This is a meditation that I wrote for my college Creative Nonfiction class. We could write anything we wanted--as long as it fit the class goals. It's my favorite of the three essays that I started--I feel connected to this subject, resonate with it as I do no other.
Below is a complete list of the song quotes, in order and cited in MLA format:
DragonForce. “Revelations.” Valley of the Damned. Sanctuary Records, 2003.
DragonForce. “Fields of Despair.” Sonic Firestorm. Noise Records, 2004.
DragonForce. “Body Breakdown.” Inhuman Rampage. Roadrunner Records, 2006.
DragonForce. “repare For War.” Sonic Firestorm. Noise Records, 2004.
DragonForce. “Cry of the Brave.” Sonic Firestorm. Noise Records, 2004.
DragonForce. “Soldiers of the Wasteland.” Sonic Firestorm. Noise Records, 2004.
DragonForce. “Through the Fire and Flames.” Inhuman Rampage. Roadrunner Records, 2006.
DragonForce. “The Flame of Youth.” Inhuman Rampage. Roadrunner Records, 2006.
DragonForce. “Cry of the Brave.” Sonic Firestorm. Noise Records, 2004.
DragonForce. “Revolution Deathsquad.” Inhuman Rampage. Roadrunner Records, 2006.
The music of Dragonforce holds a lot of meaning for me...especially lately. But I wanted to show how it combines with another of my "hobbies"; hence, this essay.
It was well-received in a full-class workshop; I hope that any readers here feel the same. I enjoyed writing it, far more than I expected to. I apologize for the length...though I actually expected it to turn out thirty pages double-spaced. It's only 22.

I like it. I like pretty much every one of DragonForce's songs and putting them into this was a good idea
